Modeling and Reuse of Object-oriented Machine Software

Lutz FISW GmbH, Stuttgart Abstract: Within the joint project MoWiMa , promoted by the BMBF , a software engineering method for the generating of control programs is worked out. It allows support for building-up and using object-oriented modular software systems congruent to physical structures of machinery types. For the description of these systems in addition to a library of reusable software modules, design information concerning the interaction of the software modules can be deposited. For this purpose a description language was determined, which is based on the object-oriented modeling language UML and adapted to the special requirements in mechanical engineering as well as to PLC-programming according to IEC 1131-3.
